Eating right and exercising regularly can help reduce your risk of cancer. This was recalled by the World Cancer Research Fund, whose updated recommendations were published on August 25.
Oncologists of the organization said that unhealthy diet, which means eating foods high in salt, sugar and fat, leads to obesity – it can be considered one of the causes of cancer.
In addition, alcohol and smoking are factors in the development of cancer.
Experts recommended including more whole grains, legumes, fruits and vegetables in the diet, and avoiding fast food, sweets and baked goods. According to the updated guidelines, pork, beef and cold meats should be eaten no more than three times a week. In addition, doctors advised to give up sweet soda, smoothies, iced tea and alcohol, adds “Moscow 24”.
Exercise should not be forgotten to prevent cancer. It is recommended to go in for sports at least three times a week.
On August 23, oncologist Elena Smirnova, referring to a study by doctors at the University of Washington, said that juice, soda and energy drinks double the risk of early colon cancer.
Earlier, on August 18, experts from the National Health Service of England said that a person should pay attention to pain, abdominal lumps, rectal bleeding and other unexplained bowel changes for three weeks. This, according to experts, is a symptom indicating the development of a tumor in the intestine.
