Riyadh: The Saudi government has launched a new campaign called ‘Your Future Tourism’, which aims to provide employment to one lakh Saudis by the end of 2021 in the fast-growing tourism sector in Saudi Arabia. The campaign is part of the implementation of Saudiization in the more private sector. The Saudi Ministry of Tourism has stated that its goal is to create 10 million jobs for Saudis by the end of 2030.
Saudis who want to work in the tourism sector have already started registration through the online portal www.hcdp.mt.gov.sa.
In addition to the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, the Human Resource Development Fund and the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation, the Ministry of Tourism is organizing the new campaign in collaboration with various institutions in the private sector. As part of the campaign, training will be organized for Saudi women and men to develop human resources in the tourism sector in the country. The job will be tailored to suit the tastes and abilities of each individual.
The ministry has also announced benefits for the private sector, which is part of the campaign, including a higher government subsidy on pay rises. Last October, the Saudi Ministry of Tourism launched the best courses in the field of tourism to find the human resources needed for tourism in the region. The training program is organized in collaboration with international training institutes.
It is estimated that with the implementation of the campaign, expatriates will lose the opportunity to excel in the emerging tourism sector in Saudi Arabia. An earlier survey had found that more young women in Saudi Arabia are interested in working in the tourism sector.
