The Japanese company “Toyota” is considering building two car factories in Africa, and Egypt is one of the preferred countries to host one of the manufacturers.
The production capacity of each factory is 100,000 cars annually, according to the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones in Egypt.
According to a statement, the head of the Japanese side of the Egyptian-Japanese Business Council and the head of the Toyota Tsusho auto industry, John Karubi, said that the Toyota Tsusho company seeks to achieve a renaissance in the auto industry in the African market, as the company will establish two factories inside the continent, with a production capacity of 100,000. car annually for each of them, in addition to its factories located in a number of countries on the continent.
Karubi pointed out that Egypt is one of the preferred countries to establish a factory, for three reasons, the first of which is the establishment of factories that feed the automotive industry, such as the car braid factory, and the second reason is the presence of qualified manpower, as the Toyota Tsusho company will rely on local expertise after some time. Limited training and qualification at the hands of Japanese experts.
The company aims to prepare Egyptian experts in the auto industry and return Japanese experts to their countries. The third reason is the efficiency of the investment environment in Egypt, which means that Egypt has taken the basic steps to localize the auto industry in Egypt.
Toyota Tsusho has been operating in Egypt for more than 40 years, and it is one of the ten largest companies in the world in terms of market value.
