OpenAI is against regulating smaller startups in the field of artificial intelligence, said Sam Altman, chief executive of the company behind ChatGPT, during a conference in New Delhi, India.
“We have explicitly said that there should be no regulation of smaller companies. The only regulation we are advocating is regulation of ourselves and larger companies,” he told an event organized by the Economic Times newspaper.
Altman is on a trip around the world, meeting heads of state from various countries.
So far, OpenAI has raised $10 billion from Microsoft at a valuation of nearly $30 billion as it invests in building computing power.
