Opinion poll on public opinion – 67% support central government: Common Civil Code is necessary

New Delhi: According to a poll conducted by India Today, 67 percent of people support the ruling BJP government.

A BJP coalition government is ruling at the center under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The opposition parties including the ruling BJP and the Congress are now engaged in vigorous campaigning in view of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections next year.

India Today and C Voter have conducted a national level opinion poll on the mood of the people in this environment.

Out of which 67 percent people have supported the central government. The central government has ensured India’s economic growth even during the corona pandemic. Modi government is effectively countering China’s threats. Most people are satisfied with that. The construction of the grand Ram temple in Ayodhya has been praised by the people as the biggest achievement of the BJP government.

Only about 18 percent expressed dissatisfaction with the central government. Unemployment in the country is increasing. They alleged that the price of essential commodities was rising.

When asked whether India needs a common civil law, 69 percent responded yes. Only 19 percent opposed the general civil law.

When asked whether banning the hijab is right, 57 percent said yes and 26 percent said it was wrong.

Collegium structure of the Supreme Court People were asked whether appointing judges to the Supreme Court and High Courts was the right approach. 38 percent answered yes. 19 percent voted that the government should appoint the judges. 31 percent opined that the government and judiciary should jointly appoint judges.

This year, 10 states will have assembly elections. With the upcoming Lok Sabha elections next year, India Today’s opinion poll has gained importance.
