New Delhi: Opposition leaders including Nitish Kumar, Mamata Banerjee, Akhilesh Singh will appear on the same stage in Haryana. In this meeting scheduled for September 25, it seems that an attempt is being made to form a third party other than the BJP and the Congress.
Devilal was the former Deputy Prime Minister of the country. A prominent political leader from Haryana, his birthday is celebrated on 25th September. For this, a public meeting is being held in Hisar, Haryana. Among them, the leaders of the opposition United Janata Dal
(JDU) Nitish Kumar, Trinamool Congress president Mamata Banerjee, Samajwadi Party’s Akhilesh Singh Yadav and others will attend. Since all of them are non-BJP and non-Congress, it is expected that an attempt will be made to form a third team based on this meeting.
National Conference President Farooq Abdullah, Shiromani Akali Dal’s Prakash Singh Badal, Samajwadi Founder Mulayam Singh Yadav, Rashtriya Janata Dal President Tejashwi Prasad Yadav and Nationalist Congress President Sharad Pawar are also expected to attend the meeting. It has been decided to hold this meeting after Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s meeting with Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) leader Om Prakash Chautala yesterday. It will be a gathering of non-Congress opposition leaders after many years.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has been trying to unite the opposition parties at the national level after the BJP pulled out of the alliance. For this, he came to Delhi for the last 4 days, camped and met the opposition leaders. It is understood that many leaders did not want the Congress to join them in this meeting. Therefore, it is planned to form a third team and get the support of the Congress depending on the situation of government formation after the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Devilal, the founder of the Lok Dal Party, was the Chief Minister of Haryana for 2 terms. During his time, a non-Congress alliance formed and ruled at the national level. VP was the prime minister in the government held at the center from 1989 to 1991. During the tenure of Singh and Chandrasekhar, Devi Lal served as the sixth Deputy Prime Minister of the country. Thus on his birthday, Devilal’s son Om Prakash Chaudala is again trying to form a non-Congress alliance.
Former Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala is also expected to invite parties from southern states to the meeting. Telangana Rashtriya Samithi President and Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhara Rao, Telugu Desam Party President Chandrababu Naidu, DMK President and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin have been included in this call list.
