New Delhi: Last week, in a report published by the US-based Hindenburg Company, it was reported that the Adani Group was involved in various irregularities. Subsequently, the company’s stock price fell sharply.
The Adani affair has created a storm in Parliament too. After the budget announcement last week, when Parliament met on Thursday, the opposition parties took up the matter and demanded an answer from Prime Minister Modi. Following this, both the Houses of the Parliament have been continuously adjourned.
In this situation, the opposition parties held discussions with Congress president Mallikarjuna Kharge about the next step in the Adani issue. Parties including DMK, NCP, PRS, JDU, Samajwadi Party, CPM, CPI, Aam Aadmi Party participated in this.
On the basis of the decisions taken in this meeting, the opposition parties in the parliament demanded that a parliamentary joint committee should be ordered to investigate the Adani issue or an inquiry should be conducted in this matter under the supervision of the Supreme Court.
All the opposition parties joined together and protested outside the parliament and in front of the Gandhi statue to emphasize these demands.
Meanwhile, the Congress party protested in front of the offices of LIC and SBI, which have invested in Adani Group, yesterday.
