Villagers said, protest will be done at all costs, suggested to make arrangements for garbage disposal at ward level.
In the Pali area of the Aravalli forest area, the protest against the construction of a temporary garbage house by the Municipal Corporation continues. On Sunday, when the people of dozens of villages came to meet Union Minister of State Krishnapal Gurjar, the police stopped them by putting up barricades. Angry villagers started protesting sitting on the road itself. As the Union Minister was not present in his office. In such a situation, we could not meet him till 4 in the evening. The villagers remained adamant on meeting the Union Minister.
He says that instead of building a garbage house in Pali, the Municipal Corporation should make arrangements to dispose of it at the ward level. The villagers will not allow another garbage dump to become a mountain in the Aravalli region. The Municipal Corporation has already set up a garbage mountain in Bandhwadi. Due to this, the air quality of the surrounding villages remains bad. Ground water is getting polluted. In the meeting that lasted for about an hour, assured to consider other options. The option of garbage disposal will be considered after meeting with DC and Corporation Commissioner.

Will give their suggestions after meeting with the rural officers on Monday. District councilors Harendra Bhadana, Bhagendra Bhadana, Azad Bhadana and villagers from dozens of villages participated in the meeting.
so became 32 million ton garbage mountain
The Faridabad Municipal Corporation had built a waste disposal plant in Bandhwadi village in the year 2008 at a cost of about Rs 70 crore under Solid Waste Management. This plant was commissioned in the year 2010. With the help of big machines, about 600 to 700 tonnes of garbage of Faridabad and Gurgaon was treated daily in the plant. But it was shut down in October 2013 due to a fire at the plant. The machines had broken down but the garbage continued to be dumped. That’s why the mountain stood there. According to the eco-green company which collects door to door garbage, at present about 32 lakh tonnes of garbage is deposited in Bandhwadi.
This decision has been taken in the meeting of NGT
In the NGT meeting held in Gurgaon recently, it was decided that from February 15, 2023, 70 percent of Gurgaon’s and 50 percent of Faridabad Municipal Corporation’s daily fresh garbage will not be dumped at the Bandhwadi landfill site. But this could not be possible due to local problems and opposition to the construction of a temporary dump.
Daily 3500 tons of garbage being sorted
The official of Ecogreen Company said that the work of sorting the garbage deposited at the Bandhwadi plant is being done at a fast pace. At present, about 3000 to 3500 tonnes of garbage is being sorted daily. In the last one year, till now 6 lakh tonnes of garbage has been sorted from here. Its speed is being increased gradually. He told that at present, about 850 to 900 tonnes of garbage is taken out from Faridabad daily and taken to Bandhwadi.
