New Delhi: The Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has issued a circular regarding the scheme for employees to get higher pension.
The circular has been informed to implement the order given by the Supreme Court on November 4 regarding the revision of pension of employees brought by EPFO in 2014.
Last August 2014, EPFO raised the monthly salary limit for employees to get pension from Rs 6,500 to Rs 15 thousand. It also announced that employees can contribute 8.33 percent of their salary towards provident fund. In November 2022, the Supreme Court gave an additional four-month grace period to employees who opted out of the revised scheme. In this case, the EPFO has directed its officers to implement the order of the Supreme Court as per the order of the Central Government.
