The Dubai Sports Council, in cooperation with the General Administration of Punitive and Correctional Institutions in Dubai Police and the Dubai Chess Club, organized a course for preparing and qualifying chess coaches within the activities of the sports program (Sports Inmates) directed to the category of inmates of penal and correctional institutions in Dubai, which aims to qualify inmates for the post-exit stage and provide a healthy sports environment Within institutions, giving them the opportunity to practice sports and physical activity.
A press release stated that 20 inmates from punitive and correctional institutions in Dubai participated in the course, which lasted for three days, in which accredited international chess lecturers lectured. At the end of the course, certificates of attendance and participation were distributed to the inmates studying.
The organization of this course comes as a continuation of the activities of the (Sports Inmates) program, and aims to rehabilitate the inmates for the post-release stage from the penal and correctional institution by teaching them a sports profession that helps them quickly integrate with society.
