The Dubai Sports Council organized the first community sports event dedicated to delivery workers in companies operating in the country, as part of the “Our Summer is Athlete” initiative launched by the Council. As a message of appreciation for this important group in society, which deserves to live a beautiful community sporting experience, and to enhance relations between companies and their employees.
The event included the organization of fun sports and entertainment competitions in five different games: tug of war, football, volleyball, badminton, and cricket. More than 450 delivery workers from six delivery companies participated in the event: Talabat, Deliveroo, Careem, Noon, Noon Food, and Now. Now, this initiative is the first of its kind to bring together all delivery companies under one roof. The event also included the organization of an awareness course presented by employees of the Traffic Education Department of the General Traffic Department of Dubai Police to delivery workers on safe driving and traffic safety on the roads, which contributed to achieving additional benefit for the participants, in addition to the pleasure of participating in the various competitions.
