Department Minister Ahmad Alkhatib has warned that the Ministry of Tourism will take action against hotels and furnished apartments found not to provide good services.
The objective of the ministry is to provide the best services to the visitors to the holy city. The Ministry of Tourism has signed several agreements to build large multinational hotels in the country.
With the completion of Saudi Vision 2030, the number of foreign tourists arriving in the country annually will increase to 15 crore. The tourism sector is expected to contribute 750 billion riyals to the gross domestic product. The contribution of the tourism sector to the gross domestic product increased from 4.5 percent to 7 percent last year. The Minister of Tourism said that great efforts are being made to develop the tourism sector and attract investment.
In Jeddah, 8,078 establishments were closed in 2023 for violating the law. Jeddah Municipality has taken action. Municipal officials conducted more than 2,57,000 field inspections in 16 Baladia branches of the municipality last year. Inspections were conducted in 1,57,066 establishments including restaurants, coffee shops, salons, establishments selling food items and 1,00,586 other establishments.
Keli gave a farewell
Riyadh: Keli Kala Sanskari Vedi Musahmiya Area Vice President Vijayan, who is returning home after 32 years of exile, was given a farewell by the leadership of the area committee. Vijayan, who was working in the workshop field, played a leading role in setting up Keli’s units in the Musahmia area. He was also at the forefront of philanthropy, social and cultural activities.
Keli has worked as Musahmia Unit Member, Musahmia Area Patron Secretary and Area Committee Member. He is a native of Vaikom in Kottayam district. Area President MK Shamir presided over the farewell function. Patron Committee member Surendran Kootai, Joint Secretaries Madhu Balushery, Sunilkumar, Vice President Gafur Anamangad, Keli Central Committee member Madhu Pattambi, Area Committee members and Unit office bearers extended their greetings. Area Secretary Nisaruddin welcomed.
