Padma Vibhushan to creator of ORR:
Dilip Mahalanabis, founder of ORS, has been awarded Padma Vibhushan. This 87-year-old doctor from West Bengal has saved 5 crore lives worldwide so far with his invention. Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav was also announced with Padma Vibhushan. This time a total of six people have been selected for the Padma Vibhushan award.

On the occasion of Republic Day, the Central Government announced the Padma Awards, the country’s highest civilian awards. Eminent people who have rendered special services in many fields have been selected for these awards. The Centre, which received nominations for the Padma Awards from May 1 to September 15 last year, released the list of those selected for the awards on Wednesday (January 25) night during the Republic Day celebrations.
