New Delhi: Pakistan’s support for terrorism is something that everyone knows, Indian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Arindam Bagshi said.
Speaking to reporters in Delhi, he was asked about Pakistan’s army chief’s visit to the US. Arindam Paksi replied, “We have seen the news about Pakistan Army Chief’s visit to America. India’s concerns about Pakistan’s support for terrorism and cross-border attacks are well known. We hope that other countries will take measures against terrorism seriously,” he said.
Responding to a question about the situation in the Red Sea, Arindam Pakshi said, “India has always supported free movement of merchant ships. Therefore, we are closely monitoring the situation in the Red Sea. India is a part of international efforts to ensure freedom of navigation. Whether it is piracy or other issues, India is making efforts to fix it,” he said.
Answering a question about Qatar’s death sentence to 8 ex-servicemen of the Indian Navy, Arindam Pakshi said, “This case is in the Court of Appeal. There have been 3 hearings in the Court of Appeal. Our ambassador in Doha got consular access to meet all 8 on December 3rd. Beyond this, I have no other information to share at this stage,” he said.
Responding to a question about Canada’s accusation against India, Arindam Bagshi said, “There is no change in our stand on this issue. Whenever this issue is raised, we have made it clear how we see the issue. The main issue is that the country is giving space to extremists, terrorists and anti-India. Canada’s speech We hope that the country will realize how some forces are misusing freedom and take appropriate action against such people,” he said.
