108 female players participated in the Ramadan student competitions for bow and arrow, basketball and volleyball games, which was hosted by the Sharjah Women’s Sports Club in cooperation with the Emirates Foundation for School Education, with the aim of discovering talented players to join the ranks of the club’s teams in the three games.
The 108 female players represented the schools of Al-Nakhilat, Al-Nof, Asmaa, Khadija, Fatima Al-Zahraa, Wasit Al-Mothaziyah, Khawla Bint Tha’labah and Al-Riffa.
The championship competitions in volleyball, the second cycle, resulted in the team of Al-Nakhilat School winning the first place, and the Khadija School second, while the Wasit Model School team won the first place for the third episode, and the Khawla Bint Tha’labah School second, and the Fatima Al-Zahraa School third.
In basketball, the second cycle, the Khadija School team won first place, Al-Nouf School second, and Al-Nakhilat School third, while the Wasit Model School team won first place for the third cycle, Khawla School second, and Fatima Al-Zahraa School third.
Acting Director of Sports Teams Department Mai Al-Amiri stated that the goal of the Ramadan student tournament is to attract talented female players to the Sharjah Women’s Sports Club teams, through cooperation with schools and various educational agencies in the Emirates, noting that the tournament produced promising talents that can be invested in the club by including them.
