What is the trajectory of La Única Tropical?
La Única Tropical is a prominent Peruvian cumbia orchestra founded on August 21, 1998 in Sechura, Piura. Its creation was promoted by Walter Chunga Antón, who, with the support of his father, decided to form a musical group that would bring joy and rhythm to the Peruvian public.
The name La Única Tropical has a family origin: La Única refers to the only daughter of the Chunga Antón family, while Tropical refers to the musical genre they perform.
Since its inception, the orchestra has stood out for its happy and danceable style, consolidating itself as one of the main exponents of cumbia in Peru. Among their most recognized hits are ‘I’ve lost a heart’ and ‘If this house spoke’, songs that allowed them to achieve notoriety on radio stations in Lima and other regions of the country.
