There is a fierce competition between former Karnataka Chief Minister and senior party leader Siddaramaiah and Karnataka State Congress president DK Shivakumar who won by a margin of 1 lakh 21 thousand 595 votes in Kanakapura constituency. Both have said that they will abide by the decision of the party leadership. It is expected that the announcement of the new Chief Minister will be made in the meeting of Congress MLAs in Bengaluru today.
In this situation, Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge, who met the media in Delhi, said, “Our visitors have now gone to Bengaluru. After the meeting of MLAs, they will send their opinion about the new chief minister to the party leadership. After that, the party leadership will discuss and announce the name of the new chief minister. The people of Karnataka will reject the BJP and put the Congress party in power. “We will fulfill the five promises we made to the public after forming the cabinet,” he said.
