Passengers must arrive at the airport 3 hours in advance: Abu Dhabi Airport officials

ABU DHABI: Abu Dhabi International Airport has imposed new restrictions on air traffic at the airport. The number of passengers arriving at the airport during Christmas and New Year will increase by 400 per cent. It is estimated that between December 22 and January 2, about 32,000 passengers and 102 aircraft will pass through Abu Dhabi Airport. Abu Dhabi Airports officials made the announcement yesterday. The new figure is four times the number of 8,400 passengers and 56 aircraft during the same period last year.

Abu Dhabi Airport urges passengers to follow strict protocols to ensure smooth travel throughout the festive season. Passengers should inquire about the latest travel restrictions and rules regarding airlines. All passengers must arrive at the airport three hours prior to departure. Arrive early so you can clearly understand the travel rules and do things accordingly. Always wear a mask when arriving at the airport.

Abu Dhabi International Airport is the second largest airport in the UAE and the fastest growing airport in the world. The airport is also the headquarters of the national carrier Etihad Airways. December is one of the busiest months since Kovid started. The airline saw a 235 per cent increase in passenger numbers in December 2021 compared to the same month last year.

You should be aware of the Kovid restrictions on the countries you are going to before departing. Must complete PCR test and related procedures. Arrange for travel only after calling and inquiring at the relevant airlines or travel agencies.
