Patna: The incident in which passengers were robbed at gunpoint on the Delhi-Kolkata Duranto Express train has created a sensation.
In this regard, the police said, “Delhi-Kolkata Duranto Express train number 12274 was robbed at around 3 am on Sunday near Patna, Bihar. Suddenly, someone grabbed the chain and pulled the train to stop. The incident took place exactly 10 km from Patna railway station. The robbers boarded the carriages armed with guns. They extorted valuables from the passengers,” it said.
A Kolkata-bound passenger in the train said that the railway police alighted at the Patna railway station and asked them to take their cell phones and chargers and secure them. When the train reached Kolkata, the passengers complained that their belongings were missing.
Train robberies were once a major menace in various parts of Bihar. In this case, the passengers expressed their fear that the incident was a reminder of the old days.
