New Delhi: PM Modi said that the Women’s Reservation Bill is a historic law.
The Women’s Reservation Bill, which was tabled as the first bill in the Lok Sabha of the new Parliament, was passed on Wednesday. The Bill was passed by a two-thirds majority in the Lok Sabha. Out of 456 members participating in the poll, 454 members voted in favor of the bill and 2 members voted against it.
After passing the Women’s Reservation Bill in the Lok Sabha, Prime Minister Modi has said that it is a historic law.
In this regard, in his X website post, he said, “I am delighted that the Constitution (128th Amendment) Bill, 2023 has been passed in the Lok Sabha with such great support. I am thankful to the MPs who voted in favor of this bill.
‘Nari Sakthi Vandan Adiniyam’ is a historic law. This will further increase the empowerment of women. And it will help women participate more in our political process.”
