A high-level delegation from the US Congress led by Speaker of the House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, visited the Polish capital, Warsaw, today, Monday, to express gratitude for Poland’s support for Ukraine in various fields.
Pelosi and six US lawmakers met President Andrzej Duda and Polish lawmakers in Warsaw.
The visit came in the wake of the US delegation’s visit to Kyiv, where he met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and pledged to support his country until Russia is defeated.
In a statement after meeting Duda, Pelosi called him “an important partner in supporting the people of Ukraine to confront Putin’s brutal and unjustified war.”
She said that during their meeting, members of her delegation “expressed America’s deep gratitude to the Polish government and the Polish people for opening their hearts and homes to Ukrainian refugees, and we affirmed our country’s pledge to continue supporting Poland’s humanitarian efforts.”
