New Delhi: Greeting the people of the country on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, President Drabupati Murmu appealed to the people to follow the values, teachings and actions of Gandhi for the welfare of the country.
Mahatma Gandhi’s 154th birth anniversary will be celebrated across the country tomorrow. In a message issued by the President congratulating the people on this occasion, “On behalf of all the people of the country, I pay my respects to the Father of the Nation. Gandhi’s symbol of truth and non-violence showed the world a new path. Gandhi did not only fight for non-violence throughout his life. Maintaining purity, empowering women, self-reliance, He fought for the rights of farmers and against the cruelty of untouchability, social discrimination and ignorance.
Various world leaders like Martin Luther King Jr., Nelson Mandela, Barack Obama have been inspired by Gandhi’s thoughts. His strong and vibrant thoughts are always close to the world. On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, all people should follow Gandhi’s values, teachings and actions for the benefit of the country,” the President requested.
