The US and NATO have approached a dangerous couple on the way to a full-scale military conflict in Europe. This was announced on Thursday, January 26, by Maxim Buyakevich, Deputy Representative of the Russian Federation to the OSCE.
According to him, the United States and NATO are taking steps to escalate the military confrontation in Ukraine, and also provoke the Kyiv regime to take military action against the population of Russia.
“This is a direct path to a full-scale military conflict in Europe, from which absolutely all the inhabitants of our continent will definitely lose,” Buyakevich said at a meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council.
He noted that the NATO countries agreed on decisions to deepen their involvement in the armed confrontation with Russia, as well as to intensify the military escalation.
“[Эти шаги] will definitely cause further civilian casualties and additional destruction in many settlements,” Buyakevich added.
On January 25, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, spoke about the benefits of the United States from dragging Europe into a “great war”. According to her, the United States provides the dollar and supports the growth of the American economy only by creating hotbeds of tension in the world.
Prior to that, on December 30, 2022, Dmitry Belik, a member of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, told Izvestia that the United States and its allies had brought the world to the brink of World War III. The deputy noted that Washington is acting immorally, creating “real world-class threats to achieve its geopolitical goals.” However, the West lives by other values and follows a perverted ideology, Belik emphasized.
On December 23 of the same year, Oleg Savchenko, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on the Financial Market, said that the States were trying to lead the European economy to a dead end. He stressed that Washington is provoking Europe to “unpopular, economically unprofitable, irrational, inefficient steps and the European economy falls further and further down, and the United States receives dividends from this.”
