Work on the presidential address to the Federal Assembly continues, the timing of the event will be announced in a timely manner. This was announced to journalists on January 30 by the press secretary of the head of state Dmitry Peskov.
“It has not resumed, the wording is incorrect, it has not stopped. This preparation continues, ”Interfax quotes a Kremlin representative.
Speaking about whether this event could take place before February 24, Peskov stressed that the Kremlin would inform about the timing of the message in a timely manner.
In December, Russian President Vladimir Putin noted that there will definitely be a message, but it will sound at the beginning of 2023. He also recalled that such situations have already happened, for example, in 2017.
According to the president, he needs time to conduct additional analysis of the situation and not repeat what he has said before.
Earlier that month, Peskov confirmed that the Russian president’s address to the Federal Assembly before the New Year would not take place.
On December 14, Peskov allowed the President’s message to be postponed to 2023. He also denied reports from a number of media outlets that it could take place in writing. There is no such form of a message from the head of state to parliament, he added.
The message of the President of Russia to the Federal Assembly is an annual event. The last time it took place was April 21, 2021.
