Dozens of civilians died and were injured in a terrible car rollover accident on a rugged mountain road in Hajjah Governorate, northwestern Yemen.
And Yemeni media sources reported that the terrible accident caused the death and injury of 25 people, including women and children, in Al-Sharaki district, east of the city of Hajjah.
And she confirmed that the accident was caused by a “Hilux” car slipping, yesterday, Friday, from a high mountain slope in Al-Sharaki district.
The sources pointed out that the accident “resulted in the death of 11 people and the injury of 14 others, including women and children,” noting that the injured were transferred to the Republican Hospital in the city of Hajjah for treatment.
According to the sources, the car, which overturned into a deep abyss, was carrying two families on their way to an engagement party for one of their relatives.
Traffic accidents have claimed the lives of hundreds of Yemenis over the past year due to the poor quality of roads, the lack of protection barriers at high turns, and the ruggedness of some roads.
