The night out of 19-year-old Quinty Bakker ended in a big downer on Saturday. During a hardstyle event at pop stage 013 in Tilburg, someone cut off a piece of her hair.
She still can’t believe it Sunday. Together with a friend she attended hardstyle event ‘REACTiVATE’ on Saturday evening. After two hours of partying, the girls called it a day and went to Bakker’s girlfriend’s house. There they discovered that a large piece of her hair was missing. “My hair is quite long, so I didn’t realize it.”
Once home, she informs her mother, Miranda Bakker-ten Bokkel, of the incident. “What makes you want to do something like that?” She is at least as outraged as her daughter. “How is it possible that someone came in with a pair of scissors? It could have turned out much worse.”
After an e-mail to 013, the ladies were told that 3,700 people were present and a random search was carried out. The only question is how the visitors have been checked. “I only had a look in my bag,” says Bakker. “But you can easily hide a pair of scissors under your clothes or in your shoe,” her mother adds.
Incidentally, according to the young girl from Tilburg, this was not the first time that hair had been cut during an event at 013. “I understood from friends that it also happened to another girl during a concert.” A video circulated on Tiktok in December of a young woman who allegedly had the same thing happened in the 013.
Fortunately for Bakker, the hairdresser was able to come by on Sunday afternoon. “At least twenty centimeters have been cut off, so a whole piece still has to be cut off to cut that evenly”, her mother sighs. A report has now been filed with the police. Bakker-ten Bokkel has also issued a call on Facebook to call any witnesses. The ladies hope to find out the perpetrator.

Mijndert Rodolf, head of communications at O13, calls the incident ‘terrible’. “I don’t think it’s normal behavior to cut someone else’s hair.”
He points out that because it was a hardstyle event, a stricter search policy was already applied. “There were five security guards who checked the visitors at the door. It is not possible to search everyone completely.” According to him, an even stricter search is not an option.
The staff of the pop center did not notice the cutting of the hair. “But we couldn’t have seen that either. There are five cameras and there were 3700 people inside.”
