Dehradun: In the state of Uttarakhand, the Kanwar pilgrimage is performed every year during the Hindu month of Shravan (July & August). The Shiva devotees who make this pilgrimage are called Kanwaris. Devotees from the northern states visit holy places, including Haridwar in Uttarakhand, to fetch water from the Ganges. Then they will anoint Shiva in the Shiva temples in their villages with that Ganga water.
In this case, the Kanwar pilgrimage was suspended for 2 years due to the spread of the corona. This year’s Kanwar pilgrimage will start on July 14. Uttarakhand Police Director Ashok Kumar said, & ldquo; We consulted with police officers from Delhi, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chandigarh. We expect 4 crore convoys to come this year.
