An IndiGo flight from Delhi to Kolkata was delayed by an hour on Wednesday due to non-availability of the pilot. All the passengers played Antakshari while waiting for the pilot. After the arrival of the new pilot, the plane took off at around 9.30 pm. There were 180 passengers on board the flight. Dainik Bhaskar’s reporter Akshay Bajpai was also present in this.

Some passengers were seen using mobiles in the flight.

Indigo’s flight number 6E2517 was scheduled to fly from Delhi to Kolkata at 8.30 pm. But its pilot refused to come. According to the air hostess, they had come from Jorhat in Assam shortly before.

The landing of his flight was delayed due to bad weather. After landing, he told that he was very tired. For this reason, after conducting an alcohol test of the new pilot, he was sent on duty.

Second incident in 4 days
Indigo flight going from Dehradun to Chennai was abandoned by the pilot in Lucknow on Sunday. He said – I am tired. Can’t go ahead. The airlines somehow arranged to take him on a flight to Delhi. As a result, the flight reached Chennai more than 3 hours behind schedule.

Pilot refuses to take off citing FDTL rules
The Indigo flight took off from Dehradun airport at 7.22 pm on Sunday. The flight reached Lucknow airport an hour later at 8.20 pm. The pilot then refused to fly further citing Flight Duty Time Limitation (FDTL) rules.

After more than 50 minutes of negotiation, the airlines convinced him to take the flight to Delhi. Another pilot took a flight from Delhi to Chennai. It was a connecting flight, which was to go from Dehradun to Lucknow and from Lucknow to Chennai.

The case came to light on the complaint of the passenger’s husband
Sameer Mohan, the husband of the female passenger on the plane, complained about this by tweeting, he wrote that the wife is on board the Indigo flight coming to Chennai, the flight has been delayed by more than 3 hours. Airlines take note of this. He also shared the screenshot of the conversation with his wife on WhatsApp. Responding to this, the airline apologized citing operational reasons.
