Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjuna Kharge, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Ambika Soni, Digvijay Singh, Anand Sharma, Casey Venugopal and Jitrendra Singh have been appointed as members of the Political Affairs Group chaired by Sonia Gandhi. Azad and Anand Sharma, known as Congress G-23 rebel leaders, have been included in the committee. P. Chidambaram, Mukhul Wasnik, Jairam Ramesh, Casey Venugopal, Ajay Maken, Priyanka Gandhi, Randeep Singh Surjewala and Sunil were included in the Task Force-2024 team. But none of the G-23 leaders were hired.
Digvijay Singh, Sachin Pilot, Shashi Tharoor, Ravneet Singh Bittu, KJ George, Jyoti Mani, Pradyut Bordoloi, Jitu Patwari and Saleem Ahmed have been appointed to the Central Planning Group. The ex-officio members will be members of the task force team and heads of all sections of the party. Each member of the task force was assigned tasks such as communication, media, finance, and election management. To this end, a dedicated team will be formed.
At the party’s strategic meeting it was decided that each state and center should have a political affairs committee instead of a parliamentary board. This is a key demand of the rebel leaders in Congress.
