New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the sale of 20 percent ethanol blended petrol at the ‘India Energy Week’ conference in Bengaluru tomorrow.
1.4 percent ethanol blended in petrol and its sale started in 2014. After that, the target was set to introduce 10 percent ethanol blended petrol by November 2022. But before that 10 percent ethanol blended petrol was introduced. The target was to introduce 20 percent ethanol blended petrol by 2030. Later, it is scheduled to be introduced in 2025. Presently it is introduced 2 years before the target period. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the sale of 20 percent ethanol-mixed petrol called E20 at the ‘India Energy Week’ conference in Bengaluru tomorrow. In the first phase, sales of E20 petrol will start at 67 petrol stations across the country.
Prime Minister Modi also introduces a solar-powered stove made with indigenous technology. This stove has been developed by the research and development division of Indian Oil Company. This solar oven is comparable to a modern induction oven. It will be India’s gift to the world. The Gates Foundation and other companies have shown interest in developing this solar oven. The Ministry of Petroleum is also considering inclusion of this solar cooker in the renewable energy sector’s subsidy scheme. Its current price is Rs.10,000. As its production increases, its price is expected to decrease.
