It is known that the State Bank of India also made a key announcement about the exchange of Rs.2000 notes two days ago. It said that there is no need to show any identity cards like PAN and Aadhaar to exchange notes in their bank branches. Also, it has been clarified that there is no need to fill any form. A Public Interest Litigation was filed in the Delhi High Court after the State Bank of India announcement. The PIL was filed against the State Bank of India and the Reserve Bank of India questioning their permission to exchange notes without any documents.
The Reserve Bank has stopped the printing of Rs.2 thousand notes in 2018 itself. It is said that only 10 per cent of notes are in most of them. As a result, common people do not have many of these notes. It should be said that there was no rush at the banks on Tuesday morning. Experts have already said that the conditions of demonetisation in 2016 will not be the same now. It is stated that there will be no impact on the common man because Rs.2000 notes are not large in circulation.
