Sri Lanka.Yoshita Rajapaksa, son of Mahinda Rajapaksa, former President of Sri Lanka, was arrested by the police on Saturday on charges of corruption in the property purchase case. Former Naval Officer Yoshita was arrested before 2015 from his home area Beletta in connection with the investigation of property during the tenure of his father’s President.
Yoshita Mahinda is second among the three sons of Rajapaksa. His uncle and former President Gotbaya Rajapaksa was also questioned by the police last week on the same property. The arrest occurred when Mahinda Rajapaksa filed a Fundamental Rights Petition in the Supreme Court demanding intervention to restore its security, which was reduced considerably by the government last month.
