It is learned that train services were disrupted on Friday morning as protesters carried out vandalism. Train services to Secunderabad have been suspended since this morning as protesters stormed the tracks. MMTS trains were also stopped. Attempts by the police to negotiate with Army candidates failed. They made it clear that they would not move off the rails until the government stepped down.
The Railway Protection Force was instructed to evacuate the railway station immediately. While talking to the candidates on one side .. a large number of forces were deployed at the station. Rapid Action Force troops, railway police and police stormed the railway station on all four sides. Police vans towards Boyguda, the police, the protesters were taken to the vehicles and taken to the nearby police stations.
Additional Commissioner AR Srinivas said that the railway police had offered ten people to come for talks but the protesters did not accept it. The entire station was under their control. Hyderabad Joint Commissioner (Traffic) Ranganath said the situation would be normal tomorrow.
The railway track has already been cleared. This also paved the way for the restoration of trains. Secunderabad Divisional Railway Manager Gupta said the signaling system and the entire railway track were ready. Train services will start soon. He said there was no loss of Rs 7 crore in the attack by the protesters. No passengers or crew were injured.
Earlier, the Railways had set up a helpline number for passengers. South Central Railway has directed to call 040 – 27786666 for details of cancellation and diversion of trains.
