An opinion poll showed that about half of Moroccans go to national tourism at least once a year, for fun.
The opinion poll conducted by the “Sunergia” group added that family visits do not fall within this percentage.
According to the same source, the duration of domestic tourism that Moroccans spend in the year ranges between 7 and 10 days.
The same survey said that the approximate budget that expats allocate for travel is 7,600 dirhams, on average.
The source added that 66 percent of the respondents choose to live in rented homes instead of hotels.
Hotels come in second place in terms of destination for Moroccans with 29 percent of Moroccans, mainly for people between the ages of 35 and 44 years (37 percent) and socio-professional categories “A” and “B” (41 percent).
The survey stated that 88 percent of Moroccans have never traveled abroad, while most of the people who go abroad (12 percent) belong to the socio-professional categories “A” and “B” (35 percent).
