Gueva achieved the victory in a dramatic manner, after scoring 66 strikes, 6 strikes below average, in the last round, to advance to first place with a total of 19 strikes below average in an exciting conclusion to the event, especially since the Portuguese started the last round four strokes behind the leaders.
Gouveia expressed his happiness at rediscovering his level in Abu Dhabi, and said: “It was a different day. I did not feel that I presented my best levels at the start, but after that I found the necessary rhythm to progress according to the strategy that I set in order for the end to be very good.”
The Challenge Tour competitions will continue in Abu Dhabi with the UAE Challenge Championship being held at Saadiyat Beach Golf Club from May 4 to 7, with Abu Dhabi hosting two consecutive events in the first return of this tour to the UAE since 2018, thanks to the partnership between the Emirates Golf Association and the European Tour Group. , which granted the Emirates Golf Federation 30 participation tickets, which provided the opportunity for a number of our players to participate and compete against elite world stars.
