In the said poster, the character of Kalimata is smoking a cigarette. Due to this, objections are being expressed all over the country on the said documentary film. Leena Manimekalai is making this documentary. Holding the LGBT flag in the other hand has also caused controversy.
Hindu communities are expressing concern over this poster saying that the Hindu deity is being insulted so badly. All the Hindu organizations are demanding the arrest of the documentary director Leena Mani Meklai who has hurt the sentiments of Hindus. Some filed complaints in police stations. An FIR has been registered in Delhi.
However, director Leena Mani Mekalai also reacted strongly to this controversy. She said that she made this documentary with the topic of equal rights. She reacted to a poster of Kali Mata smoking a cigarette. Leena said that she would sacrifice her life for freedom of speech. Kalimata is smoking a cigarette in one hand and holding a trident and an ax in the other. Ajay Gautam from Delhi has complained to the police and the home department about this poster.
