Vivek Agnihotri, the director of Kashmir Files tweeted, ‘The popular short film Kashmir Files has given sleepless nights to urban Naxals. One of them calls the viewers barking dogs and is still in trouble even after a year of the film’s release. Mr. Andhakar Raj How can I get Bhaskar. It’s yours forever’ Prakash countered Raj fiercely.
Prakash Raj spoke about the film ‘Kashmir Files’ at the Matrubhumi International Festival of Letters in Kerala recently. Kashmir Files is one of those nonsense movies, we know who made it. Even if the international jury spat on them, they were not ashamed, yet the director of that film, why am I not getting an Oscar? He commented that he was asking. He decided that he will not get the Bhaskar Award if not the Oscar.
Vivek also posted a video to counter this. In it, ‘To all these urban naxals, I challenge the legendary filmmaker from Israel. If they can prove that any single shot, event or dialogue in the film is completely untrue, I will quit filmmaking. It is people like this who stand against India every time… Mopla, they never allow the truth of Kashmir to come out’ he said.
Meanwhile, Vivek Agnihotri’s film ‘The Kashmir Files’ became one of the highest-grossing Bollywood films of last year. It is set against the backdrop of the massacre of Hindus in the Kashmir Valley in the 1990s. It stars Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumar and others.
