Topics related to the special military operation (SVO) will be the focus of Vladimir Putin’s upcoming meetings with the leaders of the Duma factions, which are scheduled for February. In particular, the parliamentarians plan to touch upon the issues of writing off loans to military personnel and granting the status of a combat veteran to PMC members involved in the special operation, Izvestia found out from party representatives.
Izvestia’s source in United Russia confirmed that preparations for such a meeting with Vladimir Putin had already begun. However, the interlocutor did not specify the dates and disclose other details.
“Each dialogue with the president is always a signal and an impulse for legislators, since it develops strategic directions for the work of the parliament in the medium term,” Adalbi Shkhagoshev, deputy chairman of the United Russia faction, told Izvestia.
According to him, the meeting will touch upon issues, primarily of a social nature, related to the SVO and the sustainability of the economy in modern conditions.
The head of the press service of the Communist Party faction, State Duma deputy Alexander Yushchenko told Izvestia that the political force plans to discuss with the president the communist program to overcome economic problems.
“Of course, we can talk about the NVO, achieving the goals of the Russian army in the course of the liberation of new regions that became part of Russia,” he added.
The President has repeatedly spoken about the importance of cohesion of society, so the deputies can discuss with the head of the Russian Federation specific solutions that will really rally the population. And, of course, the question will be raised about the fulfillment by the state of all social guarantees to citizens, Yushchenko specified.
“The State Duma is today adopting bills that are necessary to adapt our economy to sanctions, provide social security for combat veterans and those mobilized, as well as business development in the conditions of the Northern Military District,” said Sergey Leonov, First Deputy Chairman of the LDPR faction.
