New Delhi: On the occasion of Teacher’s Day, President Draupathi Murmu will present National Awards to 46 selected teachers from across the country today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold discussions with them at his residence this evening.
On the occasion of Teacher’s Day, 46 teachers from across the country have been selected for national awards. Two substitute teachers have been selected from Uttarakhand and Andaman and Nicobar Islands under the special category. President Draupadi Murmu will confer national awards on them at his residence today. The program will be telecast live on Doordarshan and Union Education Ministry’s Swayam Prabha channels.
In this regard, the central government has said in a statement.
The determination and hard work of teachers not only improves the quality of school education but also improves the lives of students. National Awards for Teachers are given to celebrate and honor the contribution of outstanding teachers of the country. For this, every year the Department of School Education and Union Ministry of Education conducts a National Awards program for teachers who are selected through open online selection across the country.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interact with National Award winning teachers at his residence today at 4.30 pm. This is stated in the statement issued by the central government. – PTI
