New Delhi: Mahatma Gandhi’s 75th birth anniversary was observed yesterday. On this occasion, President Drabupati Murmu, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar, Prime Minister Modi, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and Defense Minister Rajnath paid their respects at his memorial in Delhi.
Prime Minister Modi took to Twitter and said, “I pay my respects to Gandhiji on his memorial day and remember his profound thoughts. I pay my respects to all those who have sacrificed for our country. Let us commit to create a developed India,” he said.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah posted on Twitter, “The pioneers of Self-reliant India are Gandhijis. I will worship him on his memorial day.
Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said, “Live by giving love. Mahatma Gandhi taught that all religions should be respected. I will worship him on his memorial day.”
