New Delhi: The central government has chosen the path of integrating tradition and prioritizing development. While following the path shown by sages like Adi Shankar, Basaveshwar, Thiruvalluvar, Guru Nanak Dev, on the other hand, the Central Government is turning India into a hi-tech knowledge hub, President Draupathi Murmu said in a parliamentary session.
The budget session of Parliament started yesterday. Being the first meeting of the year, the session began with a murmured address by President Draupadi. He was sworn in as the President on 25th July 2022 and addressed the joint session of Parliament for the first time. He said:
In the last 9 years of government, decisions are taken boldly in the interest of the country. Strict action is being taken against corruption. Government contracts are finalized openly and transparently. Fake beneficiaries are being eliminated through Aadhaar linking in various government schemes. Funding is paid directly into the bank accounts of the beneficiaries in more than 300 schemes. One country, one ration scheme has been successfully implemented for migrant workers.
During the Corona Pandemic, the countries of the world suffered a great setback. Then the central government implemented the free food grain scheme. Food grains are provided free of cost under this scheme. Over 220 crore corona vaccines have been administered across the country in the last 2 years.
The central government is giving priority to poverty alleviation projects. About 9,000 public pharmacies have been opened across the country on behalf of the central government and medicines are being sold at very low prices.
The central government is fulfilling the dreams of the poor, tribals, downtrodden and backward communities. Emphasis is given to the development of backward areas.
The central government is paying more attention to the development of the country’s 11 crore micro and small farmers. Financial assistance is provided to farmers under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme. So far, more than Rs.2.25 lakh crore has been disbursed under this scheme.
More than 400 Ekalaiva model schools have been started in tribal areas. The government has demonstrated its commitment to the welfare of the OBC community by granting constitutional status to the National Commission for Backward Classes.
The central government is giving priority to the advancement of women. Doors open for women in security forces. Maternity leave has been increased from 12 weeks to 26 weeks.
The government is taking steps to eliminate every sign of servitude. Delhi Rajpath has now been converted into a duty lane. The National War Memorial has become a symbol of national heroism. The Navy has received the seal given by Chhatrapati Shivaji.
Our security forces are strengthened by youth power. Keeping this in mind, the Agni Path project has been launched. Indian players have proved their mettle in Commonwealth Games, Olympics and Para Games. The country’s infrastructure is being improved through the Pradhan Mantri Kathi-Shakti scheme.
During the tenure of the current central government from 2014 to 2022, a large number of new universities and medical colleges have been started. The country’s aviation sector is also growing rapidly. Till 2014 there were 74 airports in the country. Now it has increased to 147. Metro rail works are underway in 27 cities across the country. More than 100 new waterways are being built across the country.
India has assumed the leadership of the G-20 organization. We are also modernizing the three forces.
The central government has chosen the path of consolidating our heritage and prioritizing development. On one side is the grand Ram temple in Ayodhya and on the other the modern parliament building is being built. On the one hand Kedarnath and Kashi Vishwanath temple complex are being renovated. On the other hand, steps are being taken to build medical colleges in every district. At the same time we are developing holy places, we are making India a major space power in the world.
On the one hand we follow the path shown by sages like Adisankara, Basaveshwar, Thiruvalluvar, Guru Nanak Dev. On the other hand, we are turning India into a hi-tech knowledge hub. Through Kashi Tamil Sangam we are strengthening the spirit of Ore Bharatham and implementing programs like Ore Nadu, Ore Ration, Digital India, 5G technology. On the one hand, we take Yoga and Ayurvedic methods all over the world. On the other hand we are making India the pharmacy of the world.
We are promoting organic farming and traditional small grains. At the same time we have developed modern technology like Nano Urea.

‘We will build a self-reliant India by 2047’: President Murmu said in his address: The next 25 years are very important for India. Every citizen of the country should perform his duties properly. We have to build a new India, a self-reliant India by the year 2047.
India, which was at the 10th position in the list of the world’s largest economies, has now moved up to the 5th position.
The country is beginning to reap the benefits of ‘Make in India’ and ‘Self-reliant India’ schemes. Through these projects, the manufacturing capacity of the country is increasing and international companies are looking for India. We have started efforts to manufacture semi-conductors and aircrafts locally.
Until a few years ago we used to import cell phones in large quantities. Today we have become the largest exporter of cell phones to the world. This is what he said.
