There are no exact dates for a direct line with Russian President Vladimir Putin yet, but it is already known for sure that it will take place after the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF). This was announced on June 2 by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
“She (straight line – Ed.) [будет] anyway after [ПМЭФ]. We still don’t have exact dates yet. They are to be determined. But we proceed from the fact that in the foreseeable future it will take place, ”Peskov said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
SPIEF this year will be held from June 15 to 18, Gazeta.Ru adds.
On May 18, Peskov announced the preparation of a direct line with the Russian leader.
A direct line with Vladimir Putin takes place every year. The President listens to the questions and complaints of the Russians, at the same time giving instructions to the responsible persons. In 2021, the event took place on June 30. Then the head of state answered 68 questions.
In December 2020, the president combined the annual press conference with a direct line format. It lasted 4 hours and 29 minutes, during which time he answered more than 50 questions from journalists and citizens. The Russians had the opportunity to ask questions to the president through the Moscow-Putin app.
The length of the straight line is not regulated. Usually Putin communicates with Russians for more than 3.5 hours.
