Varanasi: Prime Minister Modi today laid the foundation stone for an international cricket stadium in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.
Known for its spirituality, Varanasi is home to the largest cricket stadium. Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for this today. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, cricket celebrities Sachin Tendul, Ravi Shastri, Kapil Dev and others attended the event.
Laying the foundation stone for the cricket stadium, Prime Minister Modi said: “This city is for Lord Shiva. This stadium will also be dedicated to Lord Shiva. This stadium will become the biggest symbol of Purwanchal area. This will benefit the local youth a lot. There was a time when parents scolded them for going to play. But that is not the case today. .If structures for sports are developed, it will give huge opportunity to young talent and pave the way for economic development of local people.
The upcoming Navratri will be more exciting with women’s reservation. This Act has opened a new path for the development of women. My best wishes to all Indian women for this. Women-led progress in India is a modern approach that will guide the world. Women have always had a very important place in India. We have a custom to worship Lord Shiva only after we worship Goddess Parvati and Goddess Ganga.
Various historic events have taken place under the leadership of women in our country. Rani Lakshmi Bai fought for the freedom of the country. The success of Chandrayaan-3 also has women’s contribution. Women have proved themselves by planting the flag of victory in every field. The Women’s Reservation Bill was pending for the last 30 years. Even the parties which opposed this bill in the past have now supported it. The votes in favor of this bill were significant.
75 thousand houses have been constructed in Varanasi under the Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme under the BJP regime and handed over to the rightful people. Most of these houses are registered in the names of women. There was a culture of buying houses in men’s names in our country. But BJP has started the culture of registering houses in the name of women. Thousands of women are home owners in Varanasi. It has raised respect for women in the society. From sports to piloting Rafale jets, our women are doing wonders,” PM Modi said.
