The 22nd edition of the International Summer University 2023 was opened with a solemn ceremony in front of the Rectorate of the University of Pristina “Hasan Prishtina”, reports Anadolu.
The International Summer University, as the most significant international activity of the University of Pristina, aims to bring international students and professors to this part of the Western Balkans, in order to exchange experiences and knowledge from different fields of study together with local and regional participants.
Welcoming all the participants and guests, the rector of Pristina University Qerim Qerimi pointed out that 14 courses will be organized during the Summer University, each of which represents different areas of different faculties, from social sciences, law and economics, to agriculture, art and medicine.
“Our agenda includes interactive discussions, forums, panels and recreational activities, all designed with dedication and care to provide unforgettable experiences to all participants. At the University of Pristina, we accept and know that knowledge is limitless and passes through every moment, so we are happy to be with you let’s share the courses we have based on contemporary literature in order to create good experiences for you”, emphasized Qerimi.
The Mayor of Pristina Municipality, Perparim Rama, said that the Summer University is an exceptional platform for academic advancement, but also for the exchange of knowledge between students and professors from different countries.
“Your presence not only enriches the academic community of Pristina, but also emphasizes the importance of global cooperation and cultural exchange in shaping our future.” Through these exchanges, the University of Pristina strengthens ties with regional universities, as well as with international ones, improving teaching methodologies and increasing scientific research capacities,” Rama emphasized.
325 students from Kosovo and from the USA, Great Britain, Germany, North Macedonia, Albania, Montenegro and other countries are participating in the Summer University this year.
Each of the 14 courses will have two lecturers, one local and one from abroad, coming from Canada, Pakistan, India, Germany, USA, Turkey, North Macedonia and Bulgaria.
In addition to the possibility of obtaining credits that students can transfer to their study programs, the Summer University aims to bring students together and enable them to make new friends and get to know Kosovo. The Summer University lasts two weeks.
