New Delhi: Delhi Capitals head coach Ricky Ponting has said that Prithvi Shah has failed to provide a spark in the top order. It is noteworthy that during the start of the current IPL season, Ponting had openly expressed his faith in youngster Prithvi Shah.
“6 matches in current season. I think about 6 or 7 games in the second half of last season. That means Prithvi Shaw, who opens the innings for 12 or 13 matches, has not registered a half-century. We needed spark in the top order. But, he failed to give it. We know he is a match winner. That’s why we kept him in the team. We knew that if he faced certain balls in the field we would win 95 per cent. However, he has scored only 47 runs in the current season. That is not enough.
