A group of Israelis and activists gathered on Saturday in Habima Square in Tel Aviv, Israel’s capital, to protest against Israel’s attacks on Gaza, reports Anadolia.
Demonstrators carried Palestinian flags and banners demanding an end to the attacks.
Israeli airstrikes on the blockaded Gaza Strip continued for a fifth day as Palestinian armed groups retaliated with rockets fired at Israel.
While at least three houses were leveled in today’s airstrikes, some suffered enormous damage. For now, there is no statement from the Palestinian Authority about the victims of the new attacks.
Meanwhile, Palestinian armed groups fired a rocket from Gaza, targeting several Israeli locations.
Israel’s national emergency medical service, Magen David Adom, said three Israelis were injured when one of the rockets fired from Gaza landed in the Sdot Negev, near the border with Gaza. It was stated that two Israelis were hospitalized with serious injuries, while another was slightly injured.
On Friday, Israeli warplanes destroyed a Palestinian house in the Jabalia refugee camp, in the north of the Gaza Strip.
However, the Israeli military claims that the targets of the Islamic Jihad group were hit in the airstrikes.
Some underground missile positions of the Al-Quds Brigade, the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad movement, were targeted during the airstrike, the Israeli military added in a statement.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health says that 33 people, including six children and three women, were killed in the airstrikes. At least 93 Palestinians, including 32 children and 17 women, were also injured.
Regional and international powers have called for an immediate ceasefire between Israel and Palestinian factions, but have so far been unsuccessful.
Israel’s military said the airstrikes were part of its Operation Shield and Arrow, an offensive launched after rockets were fired from Gaza following the death of a Palestinian prisoner on hunger strike in an Israeli prison.
According to Palestinian figures, more than 160 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces since the beginning of this year. At least 20 Israelis were also killed in separate attacks during the same period.
