Striker Christian Pulisic scored a goal to help AC Milan score a 4-1 victory over Turin in his Serie A home debut on Saturday, while Verona snatched a 2-1 victory at home to Roma.
And it seemed that the American Pulisic became the new icon in the San Siro after he scored his second goal in two matches with a close-range shot in the 33rd minute. Torino defender Bear Schors equalized after three minutes, but Olivier Giroud restored Milan’s lead from a penalty kick.
Theo Hernandez fired over goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic to add the third before Giroud scored from the penalty spot again.
Coach Jose Mourinho’s team lost in Verona, who scored in the fourth minute through Ondre Duda, before Cyril Ngongi doubled the lead before the end of the first half.
Algeria’s Houssem Aouar pulled one back for Roma after the break, but the visitors were unable to equalise, although Verona completed the match with ten players after Issac Hein was sent off for blocking Andrea Belotti in the 84th minute.
