Acting head of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) Denis Pushilin and First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of Russia Sergey Kiriyenko on Friday, January 6, visited the city of Yenakiyevo in the DPR, where restoration work is being carried out with the support of the Leningrad Region.
To date, visiting specialists have closed the heating circuit of social facilities, repaired three schools and three kindergartens, and drilled 23 wells near boiler houses and three near hospitals to solve the problem of water shortage.
“No less serious program for this year. Many thanks for such a fraternal attitude to the inhabitants of the Leningrad region!” Pushilin concluded.
In particular, it is planned to rehabilitate the Yenakiyevo transport system. The city tram and trolleybus department (TTU) has already received 10 new trams, now it is necessary to repair the depot, replace the damaged rails and stop pavilions.
On December 21, at an expanded meeting of the collegium of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the head of the department, Sergei Shoigu, told how peaceful life is gradually resuming in the territories of the cities liberated by Russian troops. In Mariupol in the DPR, military builders erected 12 residential buildings. The construction of six more buildings, a kindergarten and a school is also ongoing.
Earlier, on December 7, Russian President Vladimir Putin noted that work on the restoration of Mariupol was proceeding at a rapid pace. He also suggested creating a separate program to provide the population of Donbass with housing.
Russia continues the special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by the head of state on February 24. The situation in the region escalated in mid-February due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
