The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are experiencing a shortage of tanks and various types of ammunition. On Monday, January 30, Denis Pushilin, acting head of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), said on Channel One.
“In terms of the enemy’s technique, we see certain difficulties. Indeed, units of the Ministry of Defense in different areas burned equipment, destroyed quite a lot, ”Pushilin said.
According to the acting head of the DPR, the Kyiv militants do not have the opportunity to repair damaged equipment, since the work of repair bases is difficult against the backdrop of the destruction of the energy infrastructure.
“Difficulties – we feel it, we also see difficulties with certain types of ammunition from the enemy, but this does not mean that tomorrow or the day after tomorrow they will run out completely,” Pushilin added.
Earlier in the day, Denis Pushilin said that Russian troops were able to gain a foothold in the eastern part of Vugledar. Also, according to him, Russian military personnel are advancing in the main areas of the DPR. At the same time, Pushilin stressed that it was too early to talk about the complete encirclement of, for example, the city of Artemovsk.
Also, a correspondent for the German newspaper Bild, Julian Repke, wrote that he received complaints from Ukrainian militants about the plight of the Ukrainian army near Artemivsk. He mentioned that the Russian army is firing artillery against the enemy “literally every five seconds.”
In addition, on January 30, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky called the situation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Artyomovsk and Vuglodar directions in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) difficult. He spoke about constant assaults and attempts to break through the defenses by Russian forces.
Prior to this, on January 25, Denis Pushilin said that Kyiv continues to draw personnel reserves of its Armed Forces to the Maryinka region. According to him, the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is trying by all possible means to delay the release of the settlement.
Russia’s special operation to protect Donbass continues. The decision to hold it was made against the backdrop of the aggravated situation in the region due to increased shelling by Ukrainian troops.
