Amid the ED raid, security forces are deployed at the house of AAP MPs ND Gupta and Bibhav Kumar.
ED raided the house of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal’s personal secretary Bibhav Kumar and AAP MP ND Gupta on Tuesday (February 6). The investigating agency is conducting searches at about 10 locations of AAP leaders and people associated with them in Delhi. It is being told that this action of ED is being taken in a case related to money laundering.
Delhi Minister and AAP leader Atishi held a press conference amid the ED raid. He said- BJP wants to suppress us, but we will not be afraid. We did not commit the scam. Actually there is a scam in the ED investigation itself. ED falsified the statements of witnesses in the liquor policy case.
Atishi claimed that ED deleted all the audio footage after investigation in the liquor scam. Those from whom statements were taken said that they were given statements under pressure. Atishi asked whom the ED wanted to save by deleting the audio. How many of the questions and answers you have given before the national court do you have audio of?
Allegations of arson- taking statements by threatening witnesses
Atishi said- The entire ED case in the liquor policy case is based on making many accused government witnesses. ED took statements by pressurizing people. A witness said that he slapped her so hard that his temple got cracked. Told a witness that if you do not give statement against AAP leaders then let’s see how your daughter goes to college.
Atishi asked how it would be known whether the statements presented by ED in the court were true or were taken through intimidation. Under the 2020 order of the Supreme Court, any agency has to conduct investigation on camera. This also applies to ED.
AAP leader said- The witness told us that the statements we had given and what was written on paper were different. ED later deleted the footage of the witnesses. Every witness has the right to get CCTV footage (including audio-video). The Supreme Court had given an order regarding this matter.
ED’s fifth summons to Kejriwal, but he did not appear
Arvind Kejriwal did not appear before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday (February 2) even on the fifth summons in the liquor policy case. In the liquor scam case, ED has sent 4 summons to Kejriwal on 17 January, 3 January, 21 December and 2 November. Kejriwal has not appeared even once till now. In this case, former Deputy CM of Delhi Manish Sisodia and AAP MP Sanjay Singh are in jail.
Kejriwal’s claim- BJP said come with us, we will leave
Kejriwal claimed on February 4 that BJP had offered him a handshake. Kejriwal said at the foundation stone laying ceremony of a school in Rohini – They say come to BJP, we will leave. I said, I will not come at all. I will not come at all. Why come to BJP?
Kejriwal said- If you join BJP then all the blood will be forgiven. What wrong thing did we do? They are building schools, hospitals, roads, arranging for water and getting sewers repaired. Whatever conspiracy they want to do, they can do it. I am also firm against them, I am also not going to leave.
CBI had interrogated Kejriwal in April
On April 16, Arvind Kejriwal reached the CBI office for questioning.
In April last year, CM Kejriwal was interrogated by CBI in his office for about 9.5 hours in the liquor policy case. During this period about 56 questions were asked. Kejriwal reached the agency’s office at 11:10 am and came out at 8:30 pm.
Kejriwal had said- I answered all the questions of CBI. We have nothing to hide. AAP is a staunchly honest party. We will die and die, but will never compromise with our honesty. They want to eliminate AAP, but the people of the country are with us.
